Offender Monitoring Made Easy

Smart Start of Kansas makes monitoring easy for Kansas court services.  Several options are available to probation/parole officers in the state of Kansas for monitoring DUI offenders.  Smart Start offers these agencies compliance reports for each offender as often as once a week, and as far apart as every other month.  These reports are generated through our Smart Web program and can be tailored to meet the individual specifications of each officer.  These reports can also be automatically e-mailed, faxed or mailed to monitoring authorities.  Our interlock devices can also be programmed to the specifications needed, including very low alcohol fail levels, frequent rolling retests, and curfew vehicle lockout times.  The Smart Start ignition interlock program has many valuable tools that can be utilized for monitoring a wide variety of offenders.

MADD Gallup Survey Released

The Gallup Organization has conducted a survey for MADD in commemoration of its 25th anniversary.  This survey shows many interesting statistics on how important the issue of drinking and driving is.  It also covers public opinion on things such as sobriety checkpoints, high BAC laws, and of course ignition interlock.  This survey shows that most people at least realize what an incredible issue drinking and driving has become.  People that were interviewed for this survey also show that they are behind the laws that are being implemented to deter people from drinking and driving.  I think it would be great if the state of Kansas would release statistics on how effective ignition interlock has been in reducing recidivism of DUI in our state.  Happy Birthday MADD, your hard work is appreciated.
